PAUL GETS TITLE FIGHT OFFERS FROM WORLD CHAMPIONS DUBOIS, BETERBIEV
Paul (11-1, 7 KOs) received title fight offers from world champions Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) and Beterbiev, several days after the American YouTuber-turned boxer defeated Mike Tyson via unanimous decision.
Furthermore, the 27-year-old was called out by Dubois on social media, as the International Boxing Federation (IBF) heavyweight king still has no opponent for his first title defense.
“Hi, Jake, good business on the weekend, but how would you feel fighting for the legitimate heavyweight championship of the world?” Dubois asked Paul.
“This is Daniel Dubois calling you out. Let’s get it on,” he added.
Dubois won the IBF heavyweight belt after knocked out Anthony Joshua in the fifth round at Wembley Stadium in September 21.
BETERBIEV ALSO WANTS AMERICAN FOR NEXT FIGHT; YOUTUBER RESPONDS
Beterbiev (21-0, 20 KOs) earlier called out Tyson’s tormentor also on social media a month after the light heavyweight world champion defeated Dmitry Bivol.
Moreover, the 39-year-old Russian-Canadian fighter initially was considering a rematch with Bivol.
He would later turn to the American on X (formerly Twitter).
“After four years it’s time to have serious challenges,” Beterbiev told Paul on X.
“Didn’t notice your acceptance or rejection. So what are we gonna do?” he asked.
Meanwhile Paul responded to Dubois’ offer while taking a shot at Beterbiev.
“I’m going to have (promoter) Nakisa (Bidarian) talk to (Frank) Warren and get you in line for the throne. Unlike Artur (Beterbiev), at least you have a few thousand fans,” Paul said.
FURY OPEN TO REMATCH, SAYS FIGHTING PAUL AGAIN IS ‘INEVITABLE’
Fury is open to a rematch, saying that fighting his previous victim again is “inevitable.”
Furthermore, the 25-year-old British boxer would take on Paul again “in a heartbeat.”
Moreover, Fury dealt Paul his first loss as a professional boxer.
The two had their first fight at the Diriyah Arena in Saudi Arabia on February 26, 2023.
“In a heartbeat, yeah. I mean at the end of the day I think of me and him, we’re set in stone,” Fury said.
“He’s only got one defeat and that’s to me, so it’s inevitable that we are going to get back in the ring,” he added.
Fury is currently busy in preparation for his next fight against former UFC contender Darren Till in January.
