PAUL PASSES KIDD FOR SECOND PLACE IN NBA’S ALL-TIME CAREER ASSISTS LIST
Paul passes Kidd for second place in the NBA’s all-time career assists list after the Spurs beat the New Orleans Pelicans, 121-116, in San Antonio.
Furthermore, the player also known as “CP3” has collected 12,092 career assists to pass Kidd (12,091) in the all-time list.
Moreover, Paul now only trails retired Utah Jazz legend John Stockton, who finished his career with 15,806 assists.
The 20-year veteran pointguard reached the mark in his third assist, a nifty pass to Victor Wembanyama for a 25-foot 3-pointer 7:06 left.
Paul finished with 10 assists, six points and seven rebounds in 31 starter minutes for the Spurs.

Moreover, CP3’s effort was “an amazing accomplishment,” says Spurs interim coach Mitch Johnson.
Furthermore, Johnson, taking over as coach Gregg Popovich continues to recover from a mild stroke, says he’s fortunate to witness history in the front seat.
“It’s an amazing accomplishment. It’s a privilege to be able to see it up close and personal,” Johnson said.
“And to see someone who’s been ale to do it for as long as Chris, at the greatness he has, is pretty unique,” he added.
San Antonio called a timeout with 6:46 left before halftime.

Furthermore, Pelicans coach Willie Green raved at Paul’s “incredible” accomplishment since he arrived with the Spurs in the off-season.
Moreover, Green, who spent one year as Paul’s teammate with the New Orleans Hornets, praised the veteran’s impact with the Spurs’ young players.
“Incredible to see what he’s still doing. His mind is still working like he’s processing the game,” said Green, who also played with Paul for two seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers.
“He’s helping the young guys. He’s working with these guys in practice, and you can see the team’s growth since he’s gotten here,” he added.
Meanwhile, Wembanyama finished with 25 points and 10 rebounds.
Rookie Stephon Castle added 22 points, five boards, and four assists to lead the Spurs.
