PCB OPEN TO HOST USING HYBRID MODEL IF SAME SETUP TO BE USED IN INDIA TOURNAMENTS
Expect the PCB to host using the hybrid model in staging Champions Trophy 2025.
This will only be possible if the same setup will be used in global cricket tournaments in India.
Furthermore, the PCB is looking at a long-term agreement.
Such an arrangement will stretch beyond Champions Trophy 2025 the same option is using in refusing to play in Pakistan.
Moreover, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi cited equality in giving Pakistan the same arrangement of not playing in India for global tournaments.
“A one-sided arrangement is no longer acceptable,” Naqvi told reporters in Dubai on Sunday.
“It cannot be the case that we continue to go to India, but they do not visit Pakistan,” he added.

Moreover, the International Cricket Council (ICC) will tackle Naqvi’s stand in its meeting on Thursday.
Furthermore, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is mum if it will also use the hybrid model.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that “security concerns” were the Indian government is unwilling to field a team that will travel to Pakistan to play.
“The BCCI had issued a statement so I would refer you to it,” a spokesperson said at a press briefing.
“They have said there are security concerns there (Pakistan) and therefore it is unlikely the team will be going there,” he added.
ICC MEETING FIRST UNDER JAY SHAH’S TERM AS NEW CHAIRMAN
Furthermore, the upcoming ICC meeting will be the first under former BCCI secretary Jay Shah’s term as its new chairman.
Moreover, Shah will take over from ICC deputy chair Imran Khwaja.
Khwaja has been tasked to deal with the Champions Trophy 2025 hosting issue as an interim chair.
Shah served as BCCI secretary since 2019 before he took over as ICC chair on Sunday.
It remains uncertain as who will be the BCCI representative in the ICC meeting as Shah’s replacement.
The UAE’s ambassador to India early said that Dubai is open to host the Pakistan-India Champions Trophy 2025 match amid ongoing tensions between the two countries.
