Furthermore, the Philippines gets SEA nations’ back after the Filipinos continued to lead the region in the Paris Games’ medal haul.

Carlos Yulo hauled two golds in less than 24 hours during the weekend in gymnastics to vault the Philippines ahead of its SEA neighbors.

“Congrats to all (who) make it to Olympic, especially the current medal-winning countries. Let us show the world our SEA power when we united,” another wrote.

Yulo ruled the gymnastics’ men’s floor exercise on Saturday.

He returned the day after to win the men’s vault final.

“Respect Carlos Yulo and the (Philippines) from us in Indonesia,” an Asian online user said.

“This is proof that we SEAs can do it,” another Facebook user added.

VIETNAM, SIX OTHERS HOPE TO LAND PODIUM FINISH IN PARIS

Furthermore, Vietnam and six other nations hope to land a podium finish.

The Games end on August 11.

Singapore, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Timor Leste have yet to hit a breakthrough in Paris so far.

The Philippines, which is currently at 21st place in the overall medal tally, is not yet done.

Filipina boxer Nesthy Petecio is guaranteed a bronze and can still go higher.

She competes in the women’s featherweight division semifinals on Thursday.

Petecio is scheduled to take on Julia Szeremeta of Poland with a guaranteed silver medal at stake.

Incidentally, the Philippines is ahead of other European countries.

It is ahead so far of Spain (26th), Denmark (33rd), and Norway (42nd) in terms of gold medal count.
