Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo admitted that his own son, Mateo, prefers Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe over him.

Mateo prefers Mbappe over Ronaldo

Ronaldo scored twice in Al Nassr’s 3-1 Saudi Pro League win over Al Khaleej to move to the top of the division’s goal-scoring charts.

However, that did not impress his 5-year-old son, Mateo.

In an excerpt from an upcoming interview with the Spanish outlet La Sexta, Ronaldo admitted that his son believes Mbappe is better than his Portugal captain father.

“Mateo, he really likes Mbappe,” Ronaldo said. “He sometimes tells me: ‘Hey dad, Mbappé is better than you,’ and I reply by saying: ‘No, I am better than him, I have scored more goals.”

Mbappe flourishing in Real Madrid

It is no secret that Mbappé idolized Ronaldo in his youth.

The France captain joined Real Madrid in a high-profile move from Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

After his hat trick against Real Valladolid on Saturday, Mbappe now has 15 goals in La Liga, placing him second in the Pichichi race behind Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski.

Ronaldo scored a club-record 450 goals for Los Blancos between 2009 and 2018.
