Meanwhile FIFA is taking “appropriate internal action” to address breaches of World Cup protocol by a celebrity chef, Salt Bae, who held the gold trophy on the field.

What happened?

After Argentina beat France in the World Cup 2022 final on penalty shoot-out, it was a wild scene where players’ families and friends were all over the pitch of Lusail Stadium to celebrate.

Out of nowhere, Nusret Gökçe aka Salt Bae appeared on the same pitch with the likes of Lionel Messi, Angel di Maria.

Showing up on the pitch, he could be seen touching, holding and kissing the World Cup trophy, while asking for selfies with the players.

His acts provoked critics from the social medias, as no one except the people in charge could be on the pitch at that time.

FIFA taking actions

The elite football body is investigating the circumstances which led to ‘Salt Bae’ gatecrashing Argentina’s World Cup celebrations.

U.S Open Cup was the very first one to release announcement on banning the chef.

Happening at the same time, the chef tried to celebrate Argentina’s World Cup win with the team and was ignored by Messi.

The Argentina’s champion was seen unimpressed and totally annoyed by Salt Bae as the man kept on pulling Messi’s arm.

Well, Salt Bae already managed to ask for Di Maria, Lisandro Martinez and many more players from Albiceleste for a video or selfies.

It’s safe to say, neither Lisandro or Di Maria was entirely happy with the chef trying to steal the show.

Many more commented on the incident, joking about the time when FIFA chief Gianni Infantino, however, it was ruled out that Salt Bae was invited by Infantino himself.
