SATNER READY FOR ‘DIFFERENT’ TEST IN MUMBAI

Satner is ready for a “different” Test in Mumbai after the Black Caps’ 113-run victory over India on the opponent’s home soil.

Furthermore, the 32-year-old all-rounder came through with 13 wickets.

Moreover, the number now stands as the third-best figure by a New Zealander.

It is also the third-best for any bowler against India.

“Next Test, it might be different again,” Satner said, referring to the upcoming showdown in Mumbai.

“Someone else might get the wickets, and it might be my role to dot it up,” he added.

UNASSUMING SPINNER DISMISSES KOHLI, HAILED IN NEW ZEALAND

Moreover, the unassuming spinner dismissed Virat Kohli.

Furthermore, this came after the former went for a low full toss that the India star missed.

That was the first dismissal, followed by a rapping of the pad that forced a review.

However, the reluctant batter continued to trudge the field, which led to the second dismissal.

“It’s always nice to get Kohli out. I don’t think he was happy with the umpire’s call,” Satner said.

“We have good banter off the field as well – I’ve got him out couple of times, and I think he’s aware of that,” he added.

BLACK CAPS ‘OUTSPUN, OUTPLAYED’ INDIA IN THEIR OWN GAME, SAYS SPINNER

Furthermore, Satner believes the Black Caps “outspun” and “outplayed” India in their own game.

Moreover, the spinner knew that New Zealand had to deal with different challenges.

This stems from different playing conditions in Bengaluru and Pune.

“Coming here (Pune), we knew it would be a different challenge altogether – a classic Indian track where it would be slow and take some turn later on,” Satner said.

“That’s what’s most pleasing about this win – we beat them (India) at their own game. We outspun them and outplayed them in their own conditions,” he added.

It remains to be seen whether Satner will continue to be hailed as a hero in New Zealand for his recent exploits.

That would depend on what he does next on the upcoming Test.
