Preview Euro 2024 semifinal – Spain vs France
La Roja has been the best team, boasting a flawless record. It will be one step away from reaching Berlin for the trophy after beating host Germany and now will face the underperforming France.
A formidable force under Luis de la Fuente, Spain is the only team to have won all five matches thus far. No nation in European Championship history has won six times in a single final or posted six wins in a row.
Meanwhile, Les Bleus has been far from convincing despite being a heavy title contender. The Euro 2016 finalists have scored only five goals so far and struggled to beat Portugal in a penalty shootout in the quarterfinal.
With a masked Mbappe misfiring, only four goals have been scored in their five Euro 2024 matches so far – three for and just one against – and all by way of either penalties or own goals.
Spain have advanced for four of five Euro semis to date, but the latest memories three years ago were not sweet as they lost on penalties to eventual winners Italy.
Meanwhile, France are aiming to reach a fourth European Championship decider, but only the second played away from French soil.

Team news
Spain will face France without the veteran Dani Carvajal for a red card against Germany. At the same time, Robin Le Normand will have to serve a suspension. Pedri was forced off after a harsh challenge from Toni Kroos. He will not play any more games for Spain with his medial collateral ligament knee sprain, even if they qualify for the final.
France is clear from injuries and has no disciplinary issues to worry about, except for the broken nose of Kylian Mbappe, whose mask seems to have him struggle in the past few games.
Spain’s possible starting lineup:
Simon: Navas, Nacho, Laporte, Cucurella; Olmo, Rodri, Ruiz: Yamal, Morata, Williams
France’s possible starting lineup:
Maignan; Kounde, Saliba, Upamecano, Hernandez; Kante, Tchouameni, Rabiot; Griezmann; Kolo Muani, Mbappe
