SWIATEK, GAUFF EYE VATICAN VISIT AMID CAMPAIGN AT ITALIAN OPEN
Swiatek and Gauff eye a visit at the Vatican despite their busy schedules.
Futhermore, Gauff – a non-Catholic – wanted to witness the papal conclave that she described as a “historic thing.”
Moreover, the American world No.3 will try to see “the whole smoke thing.”
“I’m not Catholic. I would go because I feel like it’s an historic thing,” Swiatek said.
“With the whole smoke thing, I thought that was cool. I would like to go and see it and be around it since we’re here,” she added.

POLISH STAR ‘LOVES TO GO’ ON VATICAN VISIT ‘JUST TO HAVE THE EXPERIENCE’
Swiatek would “love to go” on a visit to the Vatican “just to have the experience” of seeing if black smoke are initially seen from the Sistine Chapel chimney.
Moreover, the Polish No.2 is aware there is no timetable as to when she can see white smoke where a pope will be chosen.
Furthermore, Swiatek wants to weigh her options if she can physically go, while Gauff reflects on her faith being a devout Christian.
“I would love to [go] just to have the experience. But I’ll see logistically how it’s going to look like,” Swiatek said.
“It’s (faith) super important for me. I’m not out here trying to force anybody to believe in anything,” Gauff added.

KVITOVA WINS IN FIRST MATCH SINCE BIRTH OF FIRST CHILD
Petra Kvitova won her first match in Rome since the birth of her first child after her 7-5, 6-1 victory over Irina-Camelia-Begu of Romania.
Furthermore, the 35-year-old Czech completed a successful return to tennis after 15 months away from ghe game.
Moreover, the 2011 and 2014 Wimbledon champion may have restored her faith in playing again after her latest win.
“I was 95% that I would never come back. I had enough of tennis at that time. I was like, ‘I can’t do it any more’ – so we decided to try for a baby,” Kvitova said.
“I didn’t say anything because it wasn’t 100%. When I could do something finally after pregnancy, I played some tennis and it felt so good,” she added.
