TOWNS BIDS WOLVES FAREWELL THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA POST

Furthermore, Towns bids the Wolves an emotional farewell through a social media post.

Moreover, the 28-year-old Dominican-American center thanked the Timberwolves during his nine years with the club.

“Your love, support, and unwavering loyalty have fueled my journey and inspired me to be the best player I could be,” Towns wrote on X.

“You’ll always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for everything,” he added.

Towns was tabbed as the No.1 overall pick by the Wolves in the 2015 NBA draft.

He would later take Rookie of the Year honors that season.

KNICKS MAKE TRADE OFFICIAL WITH WOLVES, HORNETS

Moreover, the Knicks made the trade official with the involvement of the Wolves and the Charlotte Hornets.

Under the terms of the deal, New York acquired Towns and James Nnaji’s draft rights from the Hornets.

Furthermore, Minnesota will get Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo, Keita Bates-Diop, and a future first-round pick.

On the other hand, Charlotte will receive Charlie Brown, DeQuan Jeffries, Duane Washington Jr., and two future second-round picks.

Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau and key players Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart were mum about Towns at the NBA Media Day on Monday since the trade was not official at the time.

Furthermore, a Knicks official praised Towns’ skillset as he arrives in New York in time for the upcoming 2024-25 NBA season.

Moreover, Knicks president Leon Rose described Towns’ skill as “unique” and “rare in this league.”

“Karl-Anthony brings a skill set that is unique to the game of basketball,” Rose said.

The Knicks executive also paid tribute to Randle, a three-time All-Star during his five seasons with New York.

Rose would also thank DiVincenzo and all players involved in the trade for their contributions with New York during their stay in the city.

“I want to sincerely thank Julius (Randle) for his contributions to both the Knicks organization and our community,” the Knicks executive said.

“We wish Julius, Donte (DiVincenzo), Charlie (Brown), DeQuan (Jeffries), Duane (Washington Jr), and Keita (Bates-Diop) all the best moving forward,” he added.
