TOWNS GETS STANDING OVATION AS KNICKS VISIT WOLVES

Towns gets a standing ovation as an opposing player as the Knicks visited the Wolves.

Furthermore, the couldn’t hold back a smile as the Wolves played an 86-second video tribute to him.

Moreover, the Target Center crowd saved their biggest cheers for the opposing team to Towns.

The seven-foot Dominican-American center was drafted No.1 overall by the Wolves in the 2015 Draft and stayed there for nine years.

However, the big man was traded to the Knicks weeks before training camp for Julius Randle, Donte Divincenzo, Keita Bates-Diop, and a draft pick.

Moreover, the new Knicks’ big man assured it’s still “all love” he’s feeling with his “brothers” at Minnesota.

Furthermore, Towns still has a house in Minnesota and still kept in touch with his former teammates.

“i’m an avid Timberwolves fan, so I watch a lot of the games when I get a chance,” Towns said on the eve of the match.

“Just because a trade happened, doesn’t mean I lost love for them. The brotherhood is always going to be there,” he added.

Meanwhile, Towns currently averages 24.8 points and a league-leading 13.9 rebounds on 53% shooting.

That matched a career high, while shooting 44% from deep with the Knicks.

BOOS HEARD FOR THIBODEAU; KAT RECALLS WOLVES HIGHLIGHTS

Furthermore, boos were heard for Knicks coach Tom Thibedeau, who also handled Towns for several years with the Wolves.

Moreover, Thibodeau coached Minnesota for three years before transferring to New York.

Meanwhile, the player also known by his initials “KAT” recalled some of the best highlights in his Wolves stint.

Among those were him playing with retired legend Kevin Garnett and watching Derrick Rose drop 50 points on them in 2018.

Towns also remembered Minnesota’s victory over the Denver Nuggets in Game 7 of the 2024 playoffs.

That pushed the Wolves to the conference finals for only the second time in franchise history.
