It was a season of turbulence for the three European giants across the competitions. Chelsea parted ways with Mauricio Pochettino despite closing to seal an European competition spot.
Xavi ended up seeing the exit after Barca’s president, Joan Laporta, decided that the legendary midfielder was no longer appropriate to continue managing the Catalan side.
Finally, Bayern Munich, who have failed to win a title in a single season for the first time since the 2011/12 campaign, will soon decide on Thomas Tuchel’s fate.
What will happen next for Chelsea, Barca and Bayern Munich? Who will take over the hot seats?
Bayern Munich
The Bavarian giants last failed to clinch a Bundesliga title in the 2011/12 campaign, so it is safe to say the disappointments are massive for the 2023/24 season.
According to sources, Bayern are in the final negotiation stage with former Man City skipper Vincent Kompany.
Germany’s outlet Bild insisted that the current Burnley manager has verbally agreed a deal to become Bayern’s new manager.
Barcelona
It was a twist that no one expected when Xavi agreed to stay before the president had a second thought.
Brought Barca to their first La Liga title in years, however, Xavi did not maintain the performance while continuing to make the Catalan side look more like a small club.
Xavi’s future is still being discussed internally at Barcelona. A meeting between president Laporta and the manager is expected to be crucial to deciding on his future. Rafa Marquez and Hansi Flick remain both options on Barça’s list in case they decide to part ways with Xavi.
Barcelona is pushing in contact with Hansi Flick; he’s been waiting for the Barça option as his favourite one for months. Flick, is never in talks with Chelsea and is entirely focused on Barça option if Xavi leaves the club. He’s the primary option for President Laporta.
Chelsea
Managing the Blues has always been challenging, so ask Jose Mourinho, Tuchel, and Frank Lampard.
In the past two years, the London-based side sacked five managers who won specific titles.
According to reports, Tuchel is considering a stunning comeback at Stamford Bridge.
No talks took place between Thomas Tuchel or Hansi Flick and Chelsea, not even an internal discussion. Both German managers are open to a new Premier League chapter, as mentioned weeks ago, but there’s nothing with Chelsea.
The Blues fans believe that Tuchel will be the best shot.
