Worlds 2024 gets 6.94 million peak viewers to make Esports history after breaking the all-time record in peak viewership.

Furthermore, the tournament – also known as the League of Legends (LoL) World Championship 2024 – completed the feat during the grand finals at O2 Arena in London.

Moreover, according to Esports Charts, the matchup between T1 and BLG lured a total of 6,941,610 viewers.

That number became only the second esports tournament that breached the six-million PV mark.

Defending champion T1, led by superstar mid-lane Lee “Faker” Sang-Hyeok, came back twice to win the championship.

It was Faker’s fifth world championship, even as he also won Most Valuable Player honors.

Moreover, T1 bagged the USD445,000 top prize, even as Faker was also named Twitch’s most popular player in the final.

Meanwhile, the word GOAT, also known as the greatest of all time that fans have associated with Faker, got over 4.4k mentions.

Incidentally, riotllaT1, which is connected with T1, emerged as the top emote used after getting almost twice as many mentions with over 60k mentions.

T1’s collision with WBG drew 6.4 million PVs in November 2023, while its matchup against DRX lured 5.1 million PVs in 2022.

VIETNAMESE, ENGLISH, CHINESE, SWEDISH LANGUAGES SHARE SPOTLIGHT

Furthermore, Vietnamese, English, Chinese, Swedish, Czech languages shared the spotlight at the Worlds.

Moreover, Vietnamese became the third Southeast Asian language to top the 1 million peak concurrent viewers in professional video gaming.

The two others are Indonesian and Tagalog in the Philippines.

English, Chinese, Swedish, and Czech languages also touched new milestones.

Incidentally, English almost peaked at two million online spectators, eclipsing the number it made last year by some 8.37%.

Meanwhile, CHZZK made 297k PVs to hit a new platform overall peak of 445.2k PVs comprised mostly of its huge Korean fanbase.
