YADAV PICKED AS INDIA CAPTAIN DUE TO FAVORABLE PLAYERS’ FEEDBACK

Furthermore, Yadav was picked as India’s captain due to favorable players’ feedback the BCCI received, reports said.

The players “trusted Yadav more than Pandya” based on what the BCCI “feedback” received after a selection meeting.

Moreover, the BCCI selectors’ were impressed with Yadav’s management skills, the report added.

Yadav’s communication skills were comparable to Rohit Sharma, his predecessor who yielded the captaincy after he announced his retirement from T20I play.

It was also Yavad who turned out to convince Ishan Kishan when he was about to leave India’s camp midway through the South Africa tour last year.

OLD YADAV VIDEO SURFACES, TACKLES HIS MINDSET AS A LEADER

Moreover, an old Yavav video surfaced, as it tackled his mindset as a leader.

The video made the rounds of social media moments after Yadav was officially confirmed as India’s captain.

“It’s important for me to keep things simple, I am a process-oriented man,” Yadav said in the video shared by Star Sports.

“I am really enjoying this new role, enjoying spending time with everybody and we all have played together a lot either in franchise cricket or in state cricket,” he added.

Additionally, the video was traced from 2023.

Incidentally, Yadav led India to a 4-1 win over Australia and a 1-all draw against South Africa.

Furthermore, the old video also showed Yadav urging other cricketers to “don’t try and be a different version of yourself.”

“I like to keep things simple and that’s what I try and tell everybody to don’t try and be a different version of yourself,” the new captain said.

Moreover, Yadav also cited the need for players to “spend so much time” to establish rapport among the team.

“It’s not difficult to understand their (players) strengths and weaknesses,” Yadav said.

“And off the field, we also spend so much time so the rapport we have on the field become very good,” he added.

Yadav will officially serve his new role in India’s three Twenty20 international matches in Sri Lanka.

The matches are set on July 27, 28, and 30.
