Flick, who took the managerial role last summer, has led the team to the top of the LaLiga table.

The German also steered Barca into the semifinals of the Copa del Rey and remains in contention in the Champions League.

Yamal, who has flourished under Flick this season, revealed the manager’s secret behind their dominant form.

“He has put in our minds that the most important thing is intensity, that we fight for each other, that we give everything for the shirt, for the players, for the fans, for the family,” the 17-year-old told Diario Sport.

“We must always have the desire to win.”

“He is very close, he cares about everyone, he explains everything to you to know what to improve or not.”

“More of a team”

Yamal has been in top form this season, registering six goals and 11 assists in 24 La Liga appearances.

Alongside him, fellow attackers Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski are also enjoying an impressive run.

When asked about his relationship with his Barça teammates, Yamal said they are “much more of a team than last year.”

“We are much more of a team than last year. It’s the normal thing that happens over time when a group of players get together and spend time together,” he added.

“Only Dani Olmo came new who was at the European Championship, we are many Spaniards and we form a great family.”

“It could be seen with the celebration against Atletico or Benfica. We are all happy for everyone and it is the key to the team.”
