It is expected for Yamal to skip Barcelona’s US tour as he gets time off from Spain.

Furthermore, the La Roja defeated England, 2-1, to win the 2024 European Championship over the weekend.

Yamal, who turned 17 on Saturday, finally celebrated his birthday on Tuesday at a dinner with family and friends.

Moreover, the youthful footballer began his time off on Wednesday and will end on August 7.

THIAGO JOINS BARCELONA COACHING STAFF AFTER RETIREMENT

Moreover, Thiago Alcantara will join Barcelona’s coaching staff under head coach Hansi Flick after he retired from playing last week.

The 33-year-old is expected to mesh well with Flick, the German coach whom he has known from his playing career.

“Thiago is set to spend the coming weeks as part of Hansi Flick’s staff in order to train as a coach,” a Barca statement said as reported by ESPN.

“The former player is expected to remain with the men’s football first team squad for the entire summer, and therefore, will be on the US tour,” it added.

Furthermore, Thiago played under Flick at Bayern and he was a key player after the German club won the treble in 2020.

Thiago announced his retirement after his contract ended on June 30 after injuries disrupted his spell at Anfield.

PEDRI, LOPEZ, TORRES JOIN YAMAL IN MISSING BARCA’S US TOUR

Meanwhile, Yamal is not the only key player from Spain who will miss Barca’s US tour.

Pedri is scheduled to continue the recovery from his knee injury in Barcelona.

He sustained the injury after Spain’s quarterfinal win over Germany in Euro 2024.

Moreover, Fermin Lopez will skip the tour to join Spain’s under-23 squad ahead of the Paris Olympics.

On the other hand, Fernan Torres was also allowed to skip the US tour.

However, it was not ruled out if Torres would not fly out towards the end of the tour.
