ZII JIA SIZZLES IN RETURN, TURNS BACK CHI IN FRANCE

Zii Jia sizzles in his return to action, as he turned back Chinese Taipei’s Chi Yu-Jen, 17-21, 21-17, 21-17.

Furthermore, Malaysia’s world No.7 overcame an opening set loss with an impressive shotmaking in the final two sets.

Moreover, Zii Jia is not taking his return for granted, as he is using this stint to prepare for the All-England tournament.

“It’s like a warm-up before the All England, which is a huge tournament. Coming back from injury, I need a competitive event to prepare myself,” the Malaysian said.

“I need to regain my momentum on court, and hopefully, I can go on to win this tournament,” he added.

LOH NO MATCH TO SHETTY AFTER GERMAN OPEN RUNNERUP FINISH

Loh proved no match to Shetty in his first match since his German Open runnerup finish.

Moreover, the Singaporean shuttler fell short in his 21-17, 21-89 loss to India’s Shetty.

Furthermore, it was a letdown for Loh, who placed second tio Danish shuttler Viktor Axelsen at the German Open final.

The Singapore felt the wear and tear of travelling, as he left Mulheim, Germany, to head straight to France.

After a close opening set, Shetty took advantage of a sluggish Loh, who ward hardly himself and lost the match eventally.

PRANNOY, SRIKANTH JOINS SHETTY IN NEXT ROUND

HS Prannoy and Kidambi Srikanth joins Shetty among Indian men’s singles shuttlers into the next round.

Furthermore, Prannoy outlasted Chinese Taipei’s Wang Tzu-wei, 21-11, 20-22, 21-9.

Moreover, India’s world No.30 needed an hour and nine minutes to dominate Wang in the decider.

Srikanth also advanced with a 21-19, 21-14 victory over Japan’s Koo Takahashi in a 40-minute match.

The former world No.1 earns a shot against Zii Jia, as he advanced after emerging on top in the qualifiers and made the main draw.
